The
BeginningIJLAPS was founded in Mombasa with a simple yet powerful vision: to make quality language education accessible to every Kenyan. Starting with just three languages—English, Swahili, and Arabic—we opened our doors to students from all walks of life, from business professionals to young learners eager to connect with the world.
Expanding
Our ReachRecognizing the growing demand for language education across Kenya, we opened our Nairobi campus in Westlands. This expansion allowed us to serve the capital's diverse population and establish partnerships with international organizations, embassies, and multinational corporations seeking language training for their staff.
Digital
TransformationWe embraced technology to reach students beyond our physical campuses. Our online learning platform launched, bringing IJLAPS quality education to students in remote areas, the diaspora, and international learners interested in African languages. This year also marked the introduction of our indigenous language preservation program.
Kisumu
CampusOur commitment to accessible education led us to Western Kenya. The Kisumu campus opened its doors, serving the Lake Victoria region and becoming a hub for learners interested in Luhya, Luo, and other Western Kenyan languages. We also launched our professional certification programs for translators and interpreters.

& GrowingToday, IJLAPS offers instruction in 14 languages, from global tongues like Mandarin and French to indigenous Kenyan languages like Maasai and Kikuyu. We've graduated over 15,000 students who now work as translators, diplomats, teachers, and business professionals across the globe. Our journey continues, driven by the belief that every language learned is a bridge built.

UTAWALA
Serving the growing Utawala community with accessible, quality language education. A modern facility designed for interactive learning.

Centrally located on Ngong Road, making language learning accessible to residents along one of Nairobi's main thoroughfares.
MOMBASA
Our coastal hub, serving Mombasa and the entire Coast region. This branch specializes in languages crucial for trade and tourism in the coastal economy.
